Minutes 04/13/2010

April 13, 2010

 

 

The Morris County Commissioners met in regular session on Tuesday, April 13, 2010, at 9:00 a.m., all members present.

 

The minutes of the March 30 and April 6 meetings were approved (Hay, Jost) as written.  Motion carried.

 

Jennifer Kassebaum, emergency management coordinator, gave her weekly report.  She attended a fire chiefs’ meeting at the Grandview Community Building in Delavan recently.  Upcoming meetings and/or training sessions include:

 

§        Call notification training – April 13

§        Emergency Action Plan workshop – April 14

§        Pipeline safety meeting at Dwight – April 14

§        First public meeting on the county’s All Hazards Mitigation Plan – May 24

 

John Lee gave the weekly solid waste and noxious weed department reports.

 

Jeff Blosser, road engineer, gave the weekly report of the road and bridge department.  Construction is proceeding on schedule on the Rock Creek Bridge project (64 C-4570-01).

There was an occurrence of vandalism at the bridge site and surrounding area within the past few days.  The Sheriff’s office is investigating the incident.

 

The project to repair areas of the lower parking lot at the courthouse has been completed.

 

Approximately 46% of recycling survey cards have been returned.  Sixty-one percent (61%) favor increasing the solid waste fee to fund the recycling program.  Twenty-eight percent (28%) favor discontinuing the program.
