Minutes 04/27/2010 April 27, 2010
The Morris County Commissioners met in regular session on Tuesday, April 27, 2010, at 9:00 a.m.; all members present.
The minutes of the April 20th meeting were approved (Hay, Jost) as presented. Motion carried.
Morris County and the City of Council Grove will host the May 21st meeting of the Flint Hills Regional Council. The meeting location is to be determined.
Resolution No. 2010-07 to designate minimum roads in Township 16 was approved (Hay, Jost) with a public hearing set for June 1st at 1:30 p.m. Motion carried.
John Lee gave the weekly solid waste and noxious weed reports.
Jeff Blosser, road engineer, gave the weekly report of his department’s activities which included hauling rock, clearing trees along rights-of-way, and grading roads. Blosser will file applications with the Department of Agriculture for creek gravel permits.
The White City shop building is scheduled to be completed in a few days.
Quotes were received for 5,000 gallons of diesel and 3,000 gallons of regular unleaded fuel as follows:

The lowest bid submitted by S & S Oil was accepted (Jost, Hay). Motion carried.
Bids were opened and reviewed for100,000 gallons of MC800 and 5,000 gallons of MC250 road oil as follows:

Bids were opened and reviewed for 6,180 tons of 1/2” road chips with delivery to select locations throughout the county as follows:

Jennifer Kassebaum, Emergency Management Coordinator, reported on the reverse 911or call notification system. Enrollment forms will be made available to those persons who wish to sign up to receive emergency alerts by telephone, cell phone or e-mail. Kassebaum also reported on recent workshops and meeting she attended recently.
