DEPUTY SHERIFF

Morris County Sheriff’s Office periodically seeks applicants that have the desire to work as a Kansas Certified Law Enforcement Officer (Deputy Sheriff) in a proactive law enforcement agency.   

TYPE:  Full Time

SALARY:  Salary is commensurate with experience

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Must have a High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED).  Applicants must be able to pass applicant testing, background investigation, psychological exam and drug screening. Must be open to scheduling flexibility (must have the ability to work any shift, weekends and holidays) must possess a Kansas Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record at the time of appointment. Previous law enforcement experience and law enforcment certification is preferred but not mandatory. Applicants must be of good moral character with no felony, or domestic battery convictions.

 PUBLIC SAFETY DISPATCHER / JAILER  

Morris County Sheriff’s Office is currently seeking applicants that have the desire to work as a public safety dispatcher and jailer. The following are requirements: Must have a High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED).  Must be able to pass the applicant testing, background investigation, psychological exam and drug screening. Must be open to scheduling flexibility (must have the ability to work any shift, weekends and holidays)must be able to accurately type at least 40 wpm, multi-task and have excellent customer service, which are fundamental to public service.  Previous public safety dispatching experience is not required.  Applications are available at 501 W.
